AG Rojas' latest music video Dreamin’ for Mexican-American artist Cuco, is a prayer for the vulnerable during a violent time in America.
Shot on 16mm during a Los Angeles summer, the film unfolds as a small, tender act of attention - following a young Cuco as he tries to free a dog chained in a neighbour’s yard. What begins as curiosity slowly opens onto something darker, revealing the presence of ICE agents and the quiet terror embedded in everyday life.
Quote from AG Rojas: “The story in Dreamin’ attempts to address two things: Cuco and my love of dogs and Los Angeles, as well the terrible reality of Latino ICE agents who are kidnapping our brothers and sisters. In the end, the video is a love story and a small prayer for all chains to be broken.”
