Featured Videos and Stills Young Fathers, Toy Salomon Ligthelm Stink Films Stills from Toy directed by Salomon Ligthelm Young Fathers, Mr Martyr Salomon Ligthelm 1st May 2018 Toy story Title of film: Young Fathers, ToyDirector: Salomon LigthelmProduction Company: Stink Films Stink director Salomon Ligthelm takes Young Father’s love song, Toy, about broken relationships and turns it into political commentary Inspired by the Young Father’s track Toy, from their latest album Cocoa Sugar, director Salomon Ligthelm approached the trio with his video concept – the idea of seeing dictators behaving like spoilt little children – pissed with the world, because things aren’t going their way. “The tone of the track is so visceral and abrasive, which I think marries the political subject matter perfectly,” says Salomon. “Looking at the political climate of our time, I’d say truth is certainly stranger than fiction.” This latest film, shot in Kiev, follows on from Salomon’s earlier video Mr Martyr for the band.
