Nike, Rip the Script

Director's Works

Video placeholder

Well into the World Cup knock-off sessions, Nike’s six-minute football epic Rip the Script still feels like it has several games going on at once.

Directed by Somesuch’s Dan Streit through Wieden+Kennedy, the film begins on a meticulously controlled Hollywood set, where an overbearing director attempts to keep the beautiful game obediently on script.

Naturally, football has other ideas. What follows is a chaotic takeover of the studio lot, as instinct, attack, flair and comic disorder rip through the production and turn every set into another stage for play.

The cast is stacked to absurd proportions: Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Vinícius Júnior, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Ronaldinho, Wayne Rooney and Cole Palmer are joined by LeBron James, Kim Kardashian, Travis Scott, Serena Williams, LISA, Central Cee, Young Miko and more.
