Tom is a creator of commercials, music videos and short films that often catapult audiences into the odd and unexpected. He feels that most other directors have a really cool origin story. Probably because they are cool. Tom isn’t cool and his arrival to filmmaking might be considered peculiar in its sheer ordinariness. He doesn’t hail from a bubbling cultural hotpot like New York or London or Berlin. Instead he grew up 15,439 kilometres away in a teeny tiny coastal surfy town in Sunshine Coast, Australia. Fortunately Tom fell in with a motley crew of likeminded skateboarders and was inspired to film them, which proved to be his ordinary but unlikely introduction to filmmaking.
