Matthew Dillon Cohen is a New York City-based self-taught film director and photographer. His career began in 2007 as a music journalist where he worked closely with musicians for years. Through music videos, Matthew learned how to tell short form visual stories using vivid colors and specific visual effect tools to grab the viewer into the worlds of the films. Today, he spends his time working on commercials and developing longer form narrative projects and with music videos as much as he can. He’s helmed campaigns and directed music videos for clients including Converse, Dazed, Gus Dapperton, and Joji to name a few. His most recent work includes the music video for Olivia Rodrigo’s smash hit “Driver’s License,” which had more than 75 million views in its first few weeks of release and the commercial “Deaf Hoops” for Facebook Groups, which showcaes the power of the social media platform’s Groups feature to connect communities.
