Flying High, Longlist - Music Video

Skrillex, Fred again.. & Flowdan - Rumble

MANU COSSU

Iconoclast

Before making this video, I listened to the entire album, and I was particularly struck by the song "RUMBLE." With the artists, we decided to embark on a fairly simple project, focusing on the energy of the video while centering it around the people. We filmed at Tory London, a legendary London club, with the somewhat crazy idea of shooting it all in one take, live, to capture the insane energy of the concert. So, we spent the evening with handheld cameras, focusing on the profiles of personalities that left an impression on us. To maintain this energetic and passionate feeling, the editing was crucial. We synchronized the shots to the rhythm of the music, making the lasers appear to follow the movements of the crowd. In this video, the idea of breaking free from the norm when partying comes to life: we liberate ourselves to the sound of the music.

In the last decade, Manu Cossu has revolutionized music videos, short films, and commercials. Renowned for his artistic visuals and avant-garde style, he's collaborated with Bag Raiders, M83, and Skrillex, seamlessly blending imagery and sound. His 2013 "Pursuit" video for Gesaffelstein garnered awards at UKMVAs and D&AD. Manu remains a disruptor in music videos and advertising, working with A$AP Rocky, Drake, and major brands like Audi, Dior, Adidas, Apple, Perrier, and Lacoste. Venturing into luxury advertising, Manu directed left an indelible mark with campaigns for Miss Dior, Lancôme's Idole with Zendaya, and Givenchy. In music videos, he directed The Weeknd's "Sacrifice Remix" and Skrillex and Fred again's "rumble." He just shot DUA LIPA’s "HOUDINI". Notably, he filmed Pharrell Williams' debut at Louis Vuitton on the iconic Pont Neuf in June. Manu Cossu continues to redefine visual storytelling with his powerful and aesthetic approach.
