Noah's Belt

Kevin Staake

Pomp&Clout and Mathematic

The idea and script was initially conceived during the 2020 election, when the country was perhaps at the peak of its division and felt as if two countries battling within one, with fears of civil war a clear and present concern. The film was then made entirely with Unreal Engine and funding made possible via Mega Grant from Epic Games. The body and facial movements were captured over just 2 shoot days at Rouge Mocap in Marina Del Ray and then fully came to life in the Engine over almost 2 years of painstaking post production.

Kevin Staake is a writer, director and producer based in Los Angeles (needle in a haystack). He's written a number of well-received scripts landing Quarterfinalist, Semifinalist and Finalist positions in prestigious contests such as PAGE, BlueCat and StoryPros. His pilot "Roundabout" was also picked up by Funny or Die for series development. In directing, he's had short films selected by SXSW, on Short of the Week and Vimeo Staff Picked. Most recently, his Unreal Engine film "Noah's Belt" won a Mega Grant through Epic Games and just had its UK premiere at the Leeds International Film Festival.
