Love Song

It's an odd time we're living in. The pandemic shook up everything that was normal to us. Two years of isolation really left its mark on us. We're living in a hyper-interconnected time and still, it feels harder than ever to fia real real connection. You feel alone, even though you're surrounded by people. The simplest tasks can leave you feeling breathless and all you want to do is to get out and take a break. This film gives a glimpse into the cultural moment of a young, urban generation, trying to make sense of it all.

Bafic is a director and artist, currently found in LA or online, globally. Using his own reflections on 21st century life and new forms of expression, Bafic’s work offers a new lens that encourages us to look differently at every iteration of ourselves. In some moments, this is literal, like in the case of ‘Processing Procession’, a piece which turned the camera to capture live audiences. In other works, like the ongoing “Warning Camera”, this coaxing towards self-awareness is open to interpretation and collaborative with the viewer. This ability to connect with others has enabled Bafic to create music videos, visuals and stills for artists including Neneh Cherry, Buddy, St. Mabel and Jeshi. These works are excerpts of truth, capturing the rare parts of each artist that are only visible and audible through his ability to create the type of intimacy that can only be birthed through profound curiosity. When he isn’t questioning everything, he is collaborating with brands such as Off-White, A ColdWall, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Vice, adidas, Sonos, Dazed, Smirnoff, Boiler Room, ICA, Kiko Kostadinov, Dover Street Market, and the Tate. A visual artist by training, Justyna employs colours, textures and format to serve a narrative purpose. Every project is a new place, a new adventure, holding beauty waiting to be discovered and revealed. Growing up with Polish and Nigerian parents in multiple countries and environments contributed to her gift for salvaging moments of beauty wherever they appear. Justyna was trained to direct actors at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in Beaconsfield and yet she enjoys putting real people in front of a camera to feed on authentic and unfiltered emotion. With her intuitive and fearless approach to filmmaking, Justyna is a beautifully intimate and equally dynamic young voice in commercials. Elliott Power is a west-London multi-disciplinary artist, spanning music, film-making and photography. Learning his craft under award-winning director, Daniel Wolfe, Elliott’s solo directing career has gone from strength to strength, and his work is recognized for its strong visual language and his ability to create immersive, emotionally challenged worlds. A true multi-hyphenate, Elliott has collaborated with the likes of Warren Du Preez & Nick Thornton Jones, for their exhibition “Immortal” (alongside Bjork and Iris Van Herpen). As well as providing soundtracks for fashion brands such as Wooyoungmi and Stone Island, Elliott has recently collaborated with London musician and counter-culture figure James Lavelle on his ‘Daydreaming with Stanley Kubrick’ exhibition at Somerset house and Saatchi gallery’s immersive sound design exhibition ‘ Beyond the Road’.
