Old Spice, Horse Ups

It was a bit of a mad dash this one, as Old Spice wanted to get it done and released quickly as a response to another brand's commercial that came out a few weeks before. We had a week to get it all shot and then a week for all the post. The initial script was much simpler - the horses were normal sized and specifically "prop horses", so I made a few changes, extending their legs and adding the one handed idea to give it a bit of the surreality it felt like it was asking for. We shot it out in Los Angeles and right at the last minute were told we couldn't use real horses, so we had to use prop horses and do our best to bring them to life in post - luckily we had a great post team who were very obliging. Isaiah is also a blessing to have involved, he's been a part of that character's development since his conception so he knows exactly what works and doesn't work, his insights were invaluable in the writing process.
