Jay Nelson is an award-winning creative and DaVinci artist whose work spans narrative features, documentaries, television, advertising, and music videos. A 30-year SAG member and voiceover artist represented by Innovative Artists, he also brings more than two decades of experience in the MPEG Editors Guild. Jay has edited over twenty Super Bowl commercials, multiple USA Today “Top 5” spots, and global campaigns for major brands. His editorial work on Grey Poupon’s The Chase earned an Emmy nomination and an AICP Editing Craft win that placed the film in MoMA’s permanent archive. His projects have received Cannes Lions, AICE, LIA, Telly awards, and a Gold Clio for his Spike Lee collaboration on Emory Douglas and the Black Panther press.
His film credits include The Bronze, Pirates of Somalia, Wild in the Streets, and Holy Wars. A founding partner of Cut+Run, Jay is now focused on advancing creative workflows that expand the potential for modern storytelling and self expression.
