Heading up Because Music UK, I oversee the day to day operations, marketing, sales and profitability of the company, with a focus on A&R and creative strategy. My signings include: Metronomy, Django Django, Klaxons (fr), Little Dragon, Klyne, Denai Moore, Late of the Pier (fr), Mmoths, Mind Enterprises, Nicholas Godin, Sebastien Tellier, and through a license deal with Erol Alkan’s Phantasy records – Daniel Avery, Connan Moccasin and Ghost Culture.
Having recently brought international acts including Christine and the Queens, Major Lazer to massive UK acclaim, the label continues to go from strength to strength. Image is a major focus for me at Because, and having received two consecutive nominations for ‘Commissioner of the year’ at the UKMVAs, and 11 nominations total in 2016, I am proving Because to be a leading light for art direction and image.
