With a career spanning independent film and high-end commercial work, Cindy Gabriel is known for championing bold, resonant storytelling. As the founder of top-ranked South African production company, Giant Films, she has launched and nurtured some of the country’s most distinctive directorial voices. Cindy’s feature credits include Forgiveness (2004), winner of the Human Rights Award and Golden Leopard nominee at Locarno, and Best Film SAFTA winner Four Corners (2013), South Africa’s official submission for Best Foreign Film at the 86th Academy Awards. She recently executive produced Lilies Not For Me (2024), a queer period drama from Paradise City and Memento, as well as GLAAD nominee Runs In The Family (2023).

Cindy’s longform work bridges film, social impact and brand storytelling, with a focus on human connection and transformation within underrepresented communities. A respected creative producer, Cindy has judged for the the AICP Awards, the Loerie Awards, the South African Film & Television Awards, and Ciclope.
