Director's Works
Born on October 4th, 1993, and raised in Eitorf, a small town near Cologne, Thomas Rösing began creating images.
Starting with painting, he developed an early fascination with photography. He completed a three-year apprenticeship as a photographer at the German Aerospace Center and was admitted to the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) in 2016 to study cinematography.
Based in Munich and Berlin, he now works worldwide on his projects.
"We Ride" is a student commercial about a 25-year-old Afghan woman, escapes from the Taliban to Europe and fights back her freedom through bike racing.
This project is more than just a commercial – it's a story that matters. It sheds light on the resilience of women who are denied basic rights and the power of movement as a form of resistance. As a filmmaker, I believe that stories like this need to be heard, especially in times when freedom is still not a given for everyone.
"We Ride" is my way of giving a voice to those who are often silenced – and a reminder that even the simplest act, like riding a bike, can become a symbol of liberation.
