Samsung, Let Go Stephen Carroll
Stephen began his career writing, shooting and directing short films. Upon graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2006, a number of his shorts screened at film festivals across the globe, with his graduate short ‘Kin’ selected in competition at the prestigious Locarno International Film Festival.
In 2011, he was honoured with the SHOTS Best New Director Award for Asia/Pacific and later selected for the Young Director's Showcase at Cannes. Since stepping into the realm of commercials, Stephen has directed an impressive body of work to become a force in the Australian market. His work straddles film genres, moving deftly through highly stylised visual storytelling concepts that capture beautiful and authentic performances, to sophisticated experiential pieces.
He has completed work for major clients including Telstra, Virgin, Toyota, Westpac, McDonald’s, AFL & NAB. His work has been recognised at several international Award Shows, including winning two Yellow Pencils at D&AD for ‘Radiant Returns’ amongst others at London International Awards & Spikes Asia and Cannes.
