Director's Works
Truman ft. Isabel, Tell Him Saul Abraham
Saul Abraham is a half Finnish, half British award-winning director and producer working across narrative, documentary, and commercials. His filmmaking is stylish, cinematic and thought-provoking, often centring on a darkly comic critique on society and modern day relationships.
His critically acclaimed, Oscar® qualifying short film ENJOY starred Himesh Patel and premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. It went on to screen and win awards at Academy/BAFTA-recognised festivals worldwide, including Best Short at Raindance and the British Short Film Awards. The film is streaming on Disney Plus.
Saul was nominated for the Sony Future Filmmaker Award at Sony Pictures in Los Angeles, chosen by a jury made up of cinematographer Roger Deakins and TriStar Pictures president Nicole Brown.
His previous short film BREAKING picked up acting awards for its leads Antonia Thomas and Martin McCann and his documentary MOSES: STRONGMAN, part of the Idris Elba curated takeover on BBC3 and iPlayer, led him to be included in the BBC New Talent Hotlist.
He is currently developing his first feature with 42 Management & Production.
It was lovely to team up and collaborate with Charley (Truman) to contribute a film for what I think is a remarkable piece of music.
To me, the song is restrained, powerful and arresting so I wanted to create a central image that honoured that - allowing us a new entry point into Truman’s words rather than ever detracting or diluting.
Everything that is good about this video is down to the incredible team, particularly HODs Keri Rothwell Douglas (producer), David Foulkes (cinematographer), Katie McGoldrick (stylist) and Heather Basten (casting director). Finally a special shout out to the ridiculously talented young actors, their families and Truman’s nan Patricia!
