It is these quiet moments that burn themselves into our consciousness; the soft click of footsteps behind you, the feeling of a stranger’s hand venturing too close, the darkness of a park where every shadow becomes a threat. We carry our keys like weapons, our eyes constantly flick over our shoulders, our breath turns shallow when a car drives too slowly or someone stares for too long. It is not panic, but a low, constant state of alertness that never fully leaves us. These are stories we rarely tell out loud, yet they live within us, shaping our paths, our fears and sometimes our decisions.
