Beyond the Rush Niyadre
Niyadre is an award-winning director based in London. Working across music videos and film, he blends powerful symbolism with the nostalgic texture of 16mm to craft vivid, emotionally charged imagery. A self-taught filmmaker, his work explores identity, memory and performance through a cinematic lens that feels both intimate and timeless. His BFI-funded debut short, Beyond The Rush, premiered at the London Film Festival and won Best Breakthrough Film at Bute Street Film Festival.
A labour of love and a call to action, ‘Beyond The Rush’, allowed me to get back in touch with my roots and home town. From listening to my loved ones over the years, I have put their memories and concerns into my first film. Uniquely depicted through 16mm vignettes contrasted with communal conversation, I strived to create a beautiful and thought provoking film, to be consumed by all cultures and to spark a need of important conversations about community and perspective.
