Director's Works
Heirlooms Luke Brookner
After studying screenwriting at Met Film School In London, Luke began directing making films for streetwear brands. Driven by finding story and authentic performance – whether it’s an off-beat comedy for Adidas or a more observed film that requires more delicacy about sensitive subject matter; his work has an authenticity, intimacy, naturalism, subtly and often humour. His narrative and commercial work have earned recognition at festivals including the Bafta Qualifying festivals, Manchester, Aesthetica, New York Shorts, The British Arrows, Kinsale Shark and Ciclope.
A really important film that sheds light on a topic that's not easy or often talked about - the impact of suicide on those who have lost their loved ones. You are 3x more likely to take your own life if you’ve lost someone to suicide. We made this film with the support of Suicide&co (a free counselling service to survivors) and with an EP and friend who lost his father to suicide. Through iterations of focus groups we wanted to reflect the experiences to break the cycle.
