Director's Works
Habitat x Pinterest, The Lamp Luke Brookner
After studying screenwriting at Met Film School In London, Luke began directing making films for streetwear brands. Driven by finding story and authentic performance – whether it’s an off-beat comedy for Adidas or a more observed film that requires more delicacy about sensitive subject matter; his work has an authenticity, intimacy, naturalism, subtly and often humour. His narrative and commercial work have earned recognition at festivals including the Bafta Qualifying festivals, Manchester, Aesthetica, New York Shorts, The British Arrows, Kinsale Sharks and Ciclope.
We were tasked with creating a short film for Habitat and Pinterest with the brief of featuring the product in the first 3 seconds. The obvious answer a break-up story about a lamp. The lamp was the thing that held the relationship together. From directorial point of view, I really want to balance the melancholic and the funny but also have those moments that could be used for Pinterest shoppable links.
