Didi Han, Youth Ludovic Gontrand
Hamlet's Ludovic Gontrand is a Paris-based director known for his innovative and realistic storytelling. Transitioning
from a background in art direction at agency Sid Lee Paris, he directs short films, music videos, and commercials.
His notable works include the short film “Legacy,” shortlisted for the Cannes Young Directors Award in 2021, and the music video “Turquoise” for Blu Samu, which won
the Gold Shark for Best New Director in 2023. Gontrand
has collaborated with prominent brands earning nominations at the Creative Circle Awards and One Show.
He thrives on creating films with a bold visual identity and
approaches his craft with meticulous precision, carefully
considering both storytelling and execution.
With this film, we wanted to celebrate the naivety of youth with all its spontaneity and beauty, as well as portraying an alternative point of view by giving the classic road trip narrative an unexpected twist. Sometimes you make great friends on the road - it’s all about being fearless and accepting people for who they are. The music video was filmed over three days with a small and agile crew as we travelled from Paris to Marseilles on an actual road trip in order to fully immerse ourselves in the experience, even throwing a real-life rave party in a Marseilles warehouse.
