Klara Fokicheva, Talismans Lada Kopytova

Lada Kopytova is a Ukrainian writer and director, currently based in London. Lada's debut short, BLUEPRINT (2024), screened at various BAFTA/BIFA qualifying festivals, received a Best Emerging Filmmaker award at Canadian Screen Award-qualifying Courts D'Un Soir, and was part of BFI Future Film Festival 2025. Her upcoming short, DIRT, was a recipient of the Full Short grant, with Roman Coppola headlining the jury. Lada is currently part of lab: Displaced Women Pitch with her satirical short, THE PITCH. Lada was included in 75 Filmmakers To Watch in 2024 list by Women X Film Festival, was featured in ELLE Ukraine, Director’s Notes, and The New Current, and was a finalist of Sundance’s Cultural Impact Lab 2025.

Additionaly, she is also a co-founder and resident artist at a Ukrainian female art collective TRiYKA, hosting art exhibitions and charity pop ups in London and raising money for Ukraine.

'Talismans' is a short artist documentary about London-based mixed-media artist and jewellery maker Klara Fokicheva, exploring her creative process of working with found materials and the influence mudlarking has on her work.

The film was shot on 16mm film.
