Dominon Lending Centres, Don't Just Roll Over John Larigakis
Blending dry, understated comedy with a sharp eye for cinematic detail, John delivers films that are as cleverly comedic as they are visually striking.
John began his career on the agency side, crafting award-winning work as both an Art Director and Creative Director. Through that work, he has earned 6 Cannes Lions, 13 Cannes Shortlists, 12 One Show Pencils, and 6 D&AD Pencils. That foundation has shaped his precise, playful, and concept-driven directing style, marked by a natural knack for deadpan performances and a distinctive visual flair.
There’s a relatable, apathetic feeling that comes with mortgages and renewals. No one seems overly enthusiastic about their situation, yet they’re just going along with it on autopilot. We wanted that to come through in our characters’ body language and the overall mood. Beyond the conceptual visual of people literally rolling around on the ground, it was important to land the right dry comedic tone. Pairing our slow moving rollers with a peppy jazz vocal track gave the spot a comedic contrast, and a timeless quality.
