Los Descarados, Once Again Without Your Love. Fabián León López
Graduated with honors from the National School of Cinematic Arts (ENAC, formerly CUEC). His work has been screened at more than 100 international festivals. He has been nominated for the Ariel Award twice, in 2018 and 2023. His short film Bridge of Mischievous Children was a semifinalist for the Student Academy Award, and Pitbull represented Mexico at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in 2023. As a screenwriter, he was a FONCA fellow in 2018 and received the Best Feature Film Screenplay Award at PROYECTO FILMO 2020. His debut feature film project Own The Fury was selected for Linterna Lab 2023 and Talents Guadalajara 2024. Once Again Without Your Love is his first videoclip.
A ritual of family disencounters, this music video is a cinematic game and a message in a bottle sent to the very depths. It is a piece in which Los Descarados and our team decided to play with the basic elements of internal montage and, and why not say it, inexpensive ones: camera movement and mise en scène. This was done to dislocate and rethink the fiction towards the ghostly, to the invisible pains and the physical detachment from those we love.
This music video marks the launch of Canino, our production company where we want to create films that resonate culturally and stimulate blood flow. Once Again Without Your Love is an independently made music video with a cash budget of barely $800 USD, finished due to the faith of many more collaborators. It is a piece created in the very best tradition of independent cinema and consistent with the approach to the music of indigenous communities: handmade with all the discipline and passion.
