Director's Works
Sapporo, So Pour A Sapporo Dylan Duclos
Dylan Duclos is a ratbag from Sydney’s West who took up filmmaking when he realised it was too hard to make a living playing pool. He has an open manual license, despite the best efforts of his local police force, and gets a new pair of Sambas every six months.
We ran around Tokyo to capture this commercial and it was fast, but fun. In a world where life's relentless pace makes calm elusive, we yearn for rare moments of peace that anchor us amidst the chaos and help us understand ourselves a little better. That fracture zone between alienation and authenticity is what I love to explore, so it's inspiring to receive a brief with such rich visual, sonic and emotional material, and set in my favourite city, Tokyo. We had multiple cameras ready to capture every fleeting moment, coming home with hard drives full of evocative Japan.
