Anthony Frattolillo approaches filmmaking with a soulful ethos, deepening into the nuance and detail of characters and story that transform everyday moments into universally-resonant experiences and truths.

The last few years have seen him journey across state after state, literally and figuratively, on a quest to reframe and reclaim the American experience as vibrant and varied as the land itself. The result: a rich body of distinctly sensory stories of American resilience and redemption.

“Shelter Mom,” Anthony’s EMMY-nominated film for the American Red Cross out of BBDO/New York, received critical acclaim for its compelling storytelling and timeliness. LBBOnline called the campaign “poignant,” while David Reviews gave the film four stars. He garnered a second EMMY nomination for his work for New York Presbyterian out of Havas/New York.

Anthony has worked in-house with marketing and creative teams at Airbnb and T-Mobile as a creative, a director, and an editor. Standout commercial work includes films for Grounded Wine with Party Land/Los Angeles, Walmart out of FCB /Chicago, and T-Mobile direct.

As a lyricist and musician, Anthony formed and fronted The Herbert Bail Orchestra, which he fronted for a decade after graduating from Sarah Lawrence College. The six-member ensemble released two acclaimed albums and several music videos. For the band’s track, “Chains,” Anthony wrote the lyrics, music, and concept for the music video. Shot by Oscar-nominated cinematographer Adolpho Velosa, Nowness called the piece, “a journey into the American psyche.”

In 2019, Anthony founded One Free Play, a nonunion production house with the mission to bring stories to life and life to stories. His diverse background informs his craft as a director, as he continues on an insatiable quest to reveal human truths…raw truths that inspire belief and bring us closer together.

Anthony, his wife, and five-year-old daughter Aria reside in Austin. He is able to work locally in New York, Los Angeles, and Austin.
