Sisters Annisa Shana Purnama
Shana is a Thai–Indonesian-born director and photographer based in NYC. Her approach is personal and intuitive, often transforming emotions and experiences into visual stories that range from subtly surreal to warmly vulnerable.
Her work moves fluidly between fiction, documentary, and fashion. Her films are guided by feminine intuition and a deep sensitivity to the human experience, often blending imagination with emotional realism. With a personal and layered approach to storytelling, she crafts narratives that challenge convention while keeping feeling at the core.
My relationship with my sister, my first best friend, shaped the way I understand love, closeness, and time. This short was made from the heart, born out of a moment that felt both deeply personal and quietly universal.
