Directed by Serafima Serafimova for creative agency Nice and Serious, the short challenges ageist assumptions through a clever reversal: the real-life stories of three older women are lip-synched by actors representing the very people who might need to hear them.
There’s Gloria, who discovered a new confidence in her body after taking up modelling in her sixties; Sue, a taxi driver thriving in a male-dominated profession; and Ann, widowed young, fiercely independent and acquiring an ever-growing collection of tattoos.
Created independently through the agency’s Nice Works initiative, the film uses this playful device to turn familiar stereotypes on their heads, letting the women’s humour, confidence and individuality speak for themselves.
