CIBO is the Italian street artist who fights hate with humour, painting bright, oversized food illustrations over racist symbols across his hometown of Verona — a place celebrated for Romeo and Juliet, yet still shadowed by recurring intolerance. Last March, filmmaker Mattia Fiumani and his production company Local Bizzarro joined CIBO in collaboration with filmmaker Filippo Tommasoli and a collective of artists from across Europe to document this unconventional act of resistance. Their 10-minute film captures the week-long collaboration, while legendary street-art photographer Martha Cooper chronicled the project for a touring exhibition.
