“When Pol from the brand Buendia0222 came up to us to make this project, there was a sort of carte blanche. Pol is a creative director himself so we spent a few days watching movies and putting our heads together to find out what we wanted to make.
“We quickly realized that we wanted to make something reminiscent of film openings from the 70s, where you’d be able to see a rather big group of characters in a big tableau, taking whatever time is needed to introduce each one of them. Quite early on we decided to score it (with IXYXI) with a symphonic ballad that could be in the opening of a Leonardo Favio or a Carlos Saura film.
“In the end the film had its challenges, such as shooting each character separately, and then working with Julien Mercier on a big comp that merged it all into one shot (which is rather unusual for what we normally do, but worked out :)”
