It’s not cheap to breathe in London, let alone if you are a foreigner. But at least we now have a track and a film about this uneasy experience. Ukrainian-Canadian artist Questions4Later digs deep in EASTERN EUROPEAN 2, delving into the Eastern European experience in London and its struggles, personified in an ominous mix-media piece by LIAKH and Spindle. The film combines photos of various immigrant-owned London businesses and the artist’s childhood photos, with Questions4Later getting literally choked out in every scene he is in… Which is exactly how most Eastern Europeans, and especially Ukrainians, felt in the span of the last few years.
