Fuelled by mince pies and mulled wine, our esteemed jury are currently glued to their screens viewing your entries – and already the feedback is that the calibre of work, much of which they’ve never seen before, is exceptional.

Thank you all for entering the 1.4 Awards of Brilliant Filmmaking. They jury has been blown away by the creative ingenuity and quality of storytelling, which is all the more impressive given the practical constraints on filmmaking during these tough times.

When the standard is this high, it makes the job of judging even harder, so to give every entry the attention it deserves, we’ve extended the judging period to December 20th.

And though winning a 1.4 Award would be the best Christmas present you could get, we’d be stealing Santa’s thunder – and that’s not really in the spirit of the festive season.

So instead, we’re giving you yet another reason to look forward to 2021, as our virtual awards ceremony will be held early next year with the winners’ webzine to follow. We’ll be announcing the date very soon, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, why not get to know the 1.4 Board of Good Taste – aka our jury of commissioners, agency and production producers and general creative geniuses?

We’ve grilled them on the big issues: creative inspiration, life lessons, the future of the film industry and what to binge-watch next (because frankly, we’re all scraping the bottom of the Netflix barrel). Just hit the button below.

Warmest regards,
The 1.4 Team
