Stay Ahead is Cameron Thuman’s (22 year old director) latest commercial, shot this past September under COVID-19 guidelines. Thuman’s production and post teams spanned across Southern California, with remote collaborators in Atlanta, George and New York, New York. After an elaborate casting process, Thuman teamed up with Juanita Caldwell, a 27 year old fitness trainer and pre-school teacher based in Inglewood, California. After a series of phone calls, Thuman incorporated Caldwell’s personal story into a high energy, active lifestyle piece. Caldwell’s instinct to never slow down amongst the constant competition against oneself complemented LA Linen’s mission to market a face mask that allows and inspires people to keep pushing and stay motivated during these tough times. Stay Ahead was produced by NativeFour and executive produced by Dilan Mistry, a 21 year old executive producer and serial entrepreneur.

Originally from Upstate NY, Cameron moved to the historic mountain town in Park City, UT where he grew up making ski edits for Olympians. The precision behind tailoring each video to an athlete’s unique personality is the same approach he takes when crafting a cinematic representation for diverse talents like Ally Ioannides (Into the Badlands), Magnus Walker (Porsche Influencer), and Val Chmerkovskiy (Dancing with the Stars). His latest film, Iron Head, was nominated for the internationally recognized Young Director Award (YDA, 2020) In Cannes France. It was also awarded a sponsorship from Panavision and supported by the Leo Freedman Foundation. Over the past year, his commercial work has become known for its striking visuals and story driven style that has landed features from Entertainment Tonight, duPont Registry, and Porsche Newsroom to name a few. Cameron is a 2020 graduate from Chapman Universities’ Dodge College and directs commerical content for NativeFour.
