For more than 25 years, Jonathon Ker’s enviable drive has distinguished him as a career-launcher with one of the keenest eyes for talent in the industry and a steadfast reputation for producing top-tier commercial film production, while forging many commercially successful businesses along this wonderfully unique and diverse journey.

His current mission is MADRE. An ambitious quest that he sets out on with Jorge Aguilera and Alejandro Saevich, as Ker seeks to create a truly collaborative, bilingual, boundary busting, production powerhouse which aims to change the way Spanish and English narratives are portrayed and produced in the current world of film. Probably his most purposeful project yet, and one that Jonathon and his all-conquering team are excited to launch in September 2022.

Jonathon’s rich and impressive resume includes commercials, films, music videos and experimental content, many produced in conjunction with some of the biggest talents and most respected brands in the business. The list is long; Michel Gondry, Neil Abramson, Alex Proyas, Keir McFarlane, Gore Verbinski, Iain Mackenzie, , Michael Jackson, Eminem, Neil Young, Black Eyed Peas, Tom Petty, Gwen Stefani, U2, Coca-Cola, Levis, Nike, American Express, Mercedes, Budweiser, Burger King and Skittles … to name a few more than a few.

Ker’s most visible Long Form work includes; the documentary “ I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times”, which chronicled the musical genius of Brian Wilson, directed by Grammy winning music producer Don Was; the HBO original film “Always Outnumbered”, written by Walter Mosley, directed by Michael Apted, and starring Laurence Fishburne; the VH1 film series aptly named “The Coppola Series” after Executive Producer and mentor Francis Ford Coppola, which included a stop motion adaptation of William Burroughs spoken word piece “A Junky’s Christmas”; and the documentary feature “Buffalo Girls”, which follows two 8 year-old girls in Thailand that compete in Muay Thai boxing to support their families. All these works received countless awards and garnered widespread critical acclaim.

As the world of film and content continues to change and develop, so does Jonathon’s ability to adapt. As is reflected in his ongoing experiential AR and VR projects that he works on closely with his partners in Spain, Visyon. While also developing a VR series of the Shakespeare plays, specifically for distribution in the Educational Sector.

There’s a bit more. But BBH, Limelight, Palomar, Tight Productions, Paydirt Pictures, Viral Factory and Hobnob, are all stories that will have to wait for another day.
