Dorothea is a Co-Founder and Head of Production of Third Channel – a prod. co specialising in films that tell authentic human stories. Third Channel’s roster includes award winning directors Cosima Spender, Jen McGowan, Marcus McSweeney, Santiago Posada and Sheldon Candis.

Dorothea’s recent film for Google The Female Planet, about a young woman designing Boeing + NASA’s rocket to Mars, has just been nominated for a 2018 DRUM Award for “Best use of VR”.

Dorothea has consulted for Sony UK on original digital content and strategy and worked with other brands such as Coca-Cola and Skype. Her long-form work includes Roger Waters, The Wall which was nominated for the 2016 Grammy for Best Music Film.

Dorothea produced the BBC’s first VR talkshow, No Small Talk, is an associate of the BAFTA VR advisory committee and was a juror on the BAFTA Digital Creativity Award 2017.

She is currently directing an installation, narrated by Jeremy Irons for the Garden Museum’s upcoming October 2018 exhibition on Humphry Repton.

What preoccupies you most at present?
Last year we decided to make sure we always had an equal number of male and female directors on our roster. We have made quite a lot of progress but to be honest I have found the mission harder than expected. I am still looking for more female talent in the UK and US, please get in touch!
