Mikey van Beuren

Self Produced

'mid-level modern knowledge worker' is a film about a young work from home man confronting the reality of an unfulfilled life. He has everything he thinks he wants and needs available to him. Life is convenient, easy, and stress free. As his phone addiction sets in, what was sold to him as the 'good life' is now beginning to turn sour. His building discontentment and numbness is leading to a breaking point, make a change, or double down on the current path.

Mikey van beuren is a commercial cinematographer by trade who is now jumping into directing on his own narrative projects. He grew up in south eastern Pennsylvania, and considers himself apart of the generation of teenage filmmakers inspired by the antics and humor of the MTV show Jackass. This slightly matured through college focusing on shooting snowboarding and skiing on the slopes of Vermont mountains. New York City was where his career in moving image began as he worked his way through the camera department working on fashion films and sports commercials as a 1st AC, eventually transitioning into a full time DP. Mikey always tries to imbue his work with a sense of our shared humanity and the intimacy of the the human experience. He now lives in the Bay area with his wife and two dogs and is currently in pre-production on the follow up short to 'mid-level modern knowledge worker' and his first feature film.
