With an eye for where the theatrical and the human overlap, Michael Hili is known for his immersive, tactile worlds. With formal training in set and costume design from NIDA, his work often includes practical set builds, sculpture and miniatures. Michael started in music videos for Flume, The Killers, Aurora, The Teskey Brothers, The Lemon Twigs, and Kirin J. Callinan. His videos have been shortlisted for a YDA (Young Director’s Award), and nominated for an ARIA and an MVA, along with Vimeo Staff Picks and Directors Library features. He has recently directed spots for The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, The Brain Cancer Centre, and Sydney fashion label Romance Was Born.
