Named after James Browns funky saxophone player, Maceo was raised in Stockholm, Sweden by his street-dance legend father and skateboard-rebel mother. Underground culture is practically embedded in his DNA. He discovered filmmaking at 11 and grew up never having to wonder what to do in life. He plays drums and believes rhythm is the secret to everything. Today he travels the world directing films and loves making people share their deepest secrets with the camera. Maceo has worked with major brands including H&M, Nokia, IKEA, Mercedes and BMW. His documentary ‘Raised by Krump’, anbout the LA street-dance scene premiered at SXSW, and his Adidas-funded debut feature ’Too Beautiful' premiered at Sheffield International Documentary Festival and is now available for streaming on HBO.
