Operation Chrono



"Operation Chrono" is a narrative short made in partnership with Free Fire for the release of Cristiano Ronaldo as Chrono, the game’s new character. It was entirely shot in the Jardim Peri slums of São Paulo with local non-actors and it features a real life 17000 ft² wheat paste mural created on the top of more than 70 roofs in the neighborhood.

Marilia and Fabio Meirelles are siblings and film directors, acting under the pseudonym I.M (Irmãos Meirelles). In addition to directing, they are screenwriters and editors in their own films. “Late Night Stores”, a campaign they made for Burger King was awarded a bronze lion in “Film” at Cannes Lions 2021, as well as winning Silver in the same category at The One Show. Recently they were shortlisted in the "New Director of the Year" category at the Shots Awards - The Americas, as well as at the YDA - Young Director Award - with "Operation Chrono", a short film they wrote and directed for the game Free Fire. They were also featured in some of the main publications in the area with the film "Murayama" - shots.net, booooom.tv and director's notes. Their most recent work include ads for Patagonia, Coca-Cola, Converse and Doritos.
