GAETANA' is an experimental short film that follows actress Gaetana through colorful and vivid iterations of Italian / Mediterranean archetypes as she struggles to make sense of her yet to be launched acting career in Paris. The film was born from my meeting with the actress Gloria Zingales, who inspired me the starting point of this portrait, then we imagined together this gallery of theatrical and sensitive characters, with various references ranging from Sophia Loren to Adriana from the series The Sopranos. Despite its fashionable and entertaining aspects, it is a story that evokes uprooting, failure or loneliness. Gaetana shows us how difficult it can sometimes be to combine your desires with reality. I hope it sounds like an introspection that takes us on a journey through different emotions.

Arnaud Giacomini is a french director and photographer based in Paris. After having work for 6 years for Cinema, and learned alongside directors like Olivier Assayas or Mia Hansen-Løve, he shot a first short film. Then he made several music videos for various artists and some digital campaigns for fashion brands. His analog photographic work has been published in different online magazines. He continues to develop his aesthetic, narrative and intimate, through both photo and video, trying to capture a certain form of poesy in what surrounds him.
