Marta has spent most of the past decade exploring different sides of the production/agency landscape.

Before embarking on her CANADIAN adventure, she learned to appreciate the art – and science – of filmmaking whilst curating culture at Wieden+Kennedy London and bridging creative disciplines at Blink.

She joined the intrepid Barcelona-born CANADA family in 2015 to bring their distinctive craft-led style and 14-strong (and growing) roster of directors to British shores.

Marta Bobić
I was born in….
A concrete utopia that doesn’t exist anymore: Yugoslavia.

I now live in…
A Brutalist concrete utopia in London.

But if I could live anywhere, it would be…
Canada (really)

Right now, I’m binge-watching…
Fargo

The last track I listened to was…
'Can’t Hold On' by the Black Lips.

I dream about…
Being up a mountain with the people I love.

The app I couldn’t survive without is…
WhatsApp. It's the constant voice in my head, for better or worse.

Social media is…
Inspiring. Boring. Powerful. Dangerous.

When we can travel again, I’ll be heading to…
Somewhere wild and dramatic.

The most important lesson I’ve learned in 2020…
Some things are out of your control, so just do your best and treat people well.

The best/worst thing about lockdown was…
Best thing: not travelling so much.
Worst thing: not travelling so much.

What the film industry needs is…
More women, more diversity, more access to funding

What I wish I’d known when I was starting my career…
You’ll never see a clear path until you look behind you

The best advice I’ve ever been given…
From my doctor parents when I was a kid: don’t be a doctor, you’ll be happier doing something creative
From my doctor parents now: don’t stress about work too much, nobody’s dying

The film I wish I’d made…
Son of Rambow. Charming and unexpected. It’s stuck with me for years.

My biggest inspiration is…
My husband. I’ve been in awe of him for 15 years and counting.

The person I would canonise is…
Armando Iannuci

If I wasn’t... I’d be…
A writer, or a chef

My last meal would be…
My grandpa’s Serbian cheese pie

My life philosophy in three words…
Que sera, sera
