I was born in….
Homerton, Hackney

I now live in…
Enfield

But if I could live anywhere, it would be…
Where I can still get a trim for £10 (north of the river, of course).

Right now, I’m binge-watching…
youtube make-up tutorials 😬

The last track I listened to was…
Beautiful Rain by The Cavemen

I dream about…
the day the complexion of my skin - and the skin of those who share its hues - is not contentious, derided or dismissed because of it

The app I couldn’t survive without is…
non-existent. I could dash my entire phone tomorrow.

Social media is…
a dichotomy

When we can travel again, I’ll be heading to…
Lagos via Alaska

The most important lesson I’ve learned in 2020…
is that I am capable.

The best/worst thing about lockdown was…
winning a pride of britain award/the passing of friends and loved ones

What the film industry needs is…
1. black people.
2. honest people.

What I wish I’d known when I was starting my career…
is that I would not have access to the subliminal (and sometimes overt) shortcuts that my peers did and as such things would take a little longer but that patience and humility would eventually serve me well.

The best advice I’ve ever been given…
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

The film I wish I’d made…
Get Out

My biggest inspiration is…
my ol' dear, Mama Soj

The person I would canonise is…
Saint Benjamin Paul Chatfield, my beloved friend and mentor.

If I wasn’t Joseph Ogunmokun... I’d be…
Joseph Arojojoye

My last meal would be…
jollof rice, fried rice, ewa riro (stewed beans), moi moi (steamed bean pudding), plantain, salad, coleslaw and supermalt with two boxes of choco leibniz biscuits and some snickers ice cream for dessert.

My life philosophy in three words…
All is well
