Mercedes-Benz, Neighbourly Tales Markus Miarka
Markus Miarka (Director & DoP) was born in Germany to Polish parents and is now based in Spain. Living between cultures shaped his voice: observant, warm, and drawn to charmingly offbeat humor as a way to connect. He directs playful commercials built around strong performances and carefully crafted visual worlds, where personality comes through in the smallest gestures. As a counterpoint, his personal projects are intimate, highlighting the beauty of people’s presence and talent, and letting them speak for themselves.
Two driveways side by side set the scene for a small neighborhood story told across three films. The interesting part of the project was finding two houses right next to each other, where we could park both cars with no fence in between. We were lucky to find this beautiful location: the same house design, just in different colors. Shooting this as Director & DoP entirely on exterior locations, with the weather changing nonstop, was a new kind of challenge for me.
