Director's Works
PinkPantheress + Zara Larsson, Stateside Charlotte Rutherford
Charlotte Rutherford is a photographer and director known for her vibrant and imaginative approach to fashion and beauty photography. Her hyper-stylized worlds blur the line between fantasy and reality. Often feeling like a pop culture fever dream, Charlotte's work is playful, surreal, and full of visual wit. Her visual language is bold and usually features quirky production design and a bit of tongue in cheek humor. Whether working in stills or motion, Charlotte brings a distinct voice that’s both polished and elevated — while never taking itself too seriously.
Directed by Charlotte Rutherford — who has helped shape the visual language of both artists across multiple releases, from PinkPantheress’ Tonight to Zara Larsson’s Midnight Sun — STATESIDE leans into a playful aesthetic swap, allowing familiar motifs to migrate between their worlds.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Rutherford explains:
“Last year was a really fun journey working with both Zara and Pink, so to continue the collaboration and have the opportunity to smash the two worlds together felt like a dream come true. Their worlds are so different, but both feel like some version of a gift shop — so we wanted a battle of the gift shops that explodes into them switching aesthetics, extreme pop mash-up style.”
