Film flair
With now over twenty international fashion film festivals worldwide, fashion films certainly have their own dedicated festival circuit to engage with. 1.4 asked curator Niccolò Montanari to select those films screened at the recent Milan Festival that resonated with him for their visual language

Now in its fifth edition, Fashion Film Festival Milano was set up by Constanza Cavalli Etro and has steadily grown to be an important international go to platform for emerging and established directors alike. This year their official selection consisted of 200 fashion films from over 800 projects across 50 different countries, carefully selected by the festival’s curator and Editor at Large i-D Italy Gloria Maria Cappelletti.

The event was well attended, with screenings set up according to different themes (Identity, Diversity, Media Mix etc.), and a series of talks and panels ranging from women working in the video industry to Q&A’s with jury members and independent directors.

It’s definitely worth checking out all the nominees and winners here.
